OPEN HOUSE 05.18.11 “THE SUN RISES IN THE EAST.” + PHOTO RECAP

Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening on Friday! Because of your support, the event was a huge success. Unfortunately due to the unexpected early closure of the event, many people did not have the opportunity to enter towards the end of the night.  As a result, the gallery at DD172 has decided to open one more day to the public. For those of you who didn’t have a chance to see the exhibit, head down and check it out. Many prints are still available for sale at reasonable prices!  More RECAP photos after the jump.  Check out Complex’s Recap as well! Photos by Akiko Higuchi.

Showcasing a large variety of photos, the majority taken in Japan, the show focuses on celebrating the culture through photography, music, and good times, while raising financial and moral support to those in need. The works are all for sale by silent auction with all payments being donated directly to the Japan Society Earthquake Fund.
